PROJECT DETAILS
This project was built for Peterborough VegFest, in partial fulfillment of the requirements of the Applied Project Management course I took for my Wireless Information Networking program at Fleming College. The objective of the project was to provide a directory where vegan and vegetarian businesses in Peterborough can be cataloged.
This website was built using WordPress CMS, following the sponsor’s requirements.
FEATURES AND DELIVERABLES
RESPONSIVE DESIGN
This website is adaptable to various screen sizes, including laptops, desktops, tablets, and mobile phones.
FILTERABLE
The website has search and sort features which allows users to easily filter listings based on a number of criteria. This makes it easier to find what one is looking for.
GOOD SECURITY
The website uses SSL to ensure that user data is protected. All passwords and sensitive information are properly encrypted.
USER TRAINING MANUALS
The project comes with manuals and tutorial videos to train the users on how to update and maintain the website.
WHAT I DID
For this project, I worked with a team of 4 talented classmates. I was lead developer and communications lead: I handled communications between the team, the project sponsor and the project mentor. I also worked on the front-end and back-end aspects of the website development process, I chose colors and fonts that matched with the Peterborough VegFest parent website so they could look related, and I added a number of features to the project to fulfill the sponsor’s requirements.
